Charlotte, NC 1987-2002
Also called CC Air, the airline was created when Sunbird Airlines was renamed. It operated as a Piedmont Commuter/USAir Express partner. They experienced a tremendous period of growth in theearly years. Ther was a tremndous change in compensation with the senior partner and led to the company filing for banruptcy. The CEO turned the airline around the airline and restructuring it. CCAir left bankruptcy profitably. In 1999, Mesa Air Group acquired CCAIR but CCAIR and Mesa were operated as separate airlines. On November 4, 2002, CCAIR ceased operations. Most CCAir pilots found employment with Mesa and Mesa's collective bargaining agreement in their respective operations.
