Authors Note: There is controversy over this wing which is from an Amcraft Die. Whether this is real or a reproduction is the problem. This same wing was also made by Blackington. Zantop Flying Service (not Air Transport) started operations in 1946, in 1966 they were sold to Universal Airlines and restarted in 1981 as Zantop Air Transport (Later Zantop International). This wing might very well be from Zantop Flying Service.
Ypsilanti, MI 1956-1966
Zantop Air Transport was formed from Zantop Flying Service in 1946. The Civil Aeronautics Board approved transfer of the operating certificate of Coastal Airlines to Zantop Air Transport, which had incorporated and become a supplemental air carrier. The former company had been a hauler for the Big Three automakers. With the new arrangement Zantop could provide individually waybilled services. The original founders of Zantop Flying Services, the Zantop brothers, all sold their stock and resigned from the company in 1966, at which time it became Universal Airlines, Inc.
