Pinehurst Airlines was formed in February 1973 and was owned by Plans Incorporated. The airline's activities included contract charter flights for the U.S. Post Office out of Newark, New Jersey and Baltimore, Maryland, as well as general freight charter work. Scheduled air freighter runs were also undertaken as was a scheduled service between Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia.
