Value Jet Flight Attendant Name Badge

Atlanta, GA 1993-1997

ValuJet Airlines was headquartered in Atlanta, GA and operated regularly scheduled domestic and international flights. With low overhead and non-restricted fares, Valujet was quickly profitable. Later and after a series of safety problems and the fatal crash of ValuJet Flight 592, the company merged with the much smaller regional airline known as AirWays Corp., now known as AirTran Hldings. That merger occured on September 24, 1997. ValuJet, while the nominal survivor of the merger, chose to replace its tarnished name with AirTran's. The successor airline, AirTran Airlines was acquired by Southwest Airlines in 2011.
